| Fleet One, | |||||||||
| First, a huge thank you to Dual and Kara Macintyre for hosting the Fleet One Barbeque on Saturday. | |||||||||
| There were over 100 guests, including several members of the LYC Race Committee. Thank you to | |||||||||
| everyone who brought an hors d'oeuvres, side dish, or dessert. In particular, thank you to | |||||||||
| Toni and Fred Werblow for that absolutely glorious cake! For those who weren't there, it was decorated | |||||||||
| with a beautiful Shields under sail (light green hull, of course - Corny would have been most pleased). | |||||||||
| I believe Kara took a picture of it - I will try and get it posted. | |||||||||
| Thank you to all who came - sailors, family, Race Committee - you made it a great party. | |||||||||
| Thank you also to our Shields Race Committee from Saturday. PRO Paul Lennon, with help from Mike Carr, | |||||||||
| John Mawe, and recent Shields recruit Haye Kesteloo, ran two competitive races, contending with a 70 degree | |||||||||
| windshift in the process. How great to see the Shields flag flying proudly from the new Satan's Toe! Six boats | |||||||||
| competed in the crew race. Congratulations to Chris Gould and crew aboard 142 whose 1-3 beat out Witold | |||||||||
| Gesing's 2-2 aboard 25 in a tiebreak. | |||||||||
| Regards, | |||||||||
